Proposed waste facilities in Martyrs Lane - Have your say by 7-Feb-18

Surrey County Council are asking for views on the draft plan which includes potential sites and policies which will inform how SCC will make decisions on new waste management facilities between 2018 and 2033. This consultation is the main opportunity for you to influence the contents of the Plan before it is submitted to the Secretary of State for independent examination.

A site in Martyrs Lane has been included in the shortlist. The former landfill site is adjacent to the current Community Recycling Centre is and forms part of the land that is being proposed for inclusion in the Woking BC Site Allocations Development Plan Document that was consulted on in 2017.

  • An overview of the consultation and the need to address waste plans in surrey can be found here.

  • There is a comprehensive set of documentation that provides a complete background to the reason to include the Martyrs Lane site at this link.
