Horsell Wednesday Weekly walk - 30 October @ 9:50am for 10am

Posted on behalf of Second Thursday Club
Wednesday Weekly walk October 30th meeting at 9.50 by the large notice board in Horsell High Street. The walk will start at 10am and finish around 11.45 back in Horsell High Street, with plenty of time for refreshments. The walk this week will be different in two ways. We are going on a special visit to a very hidden little church in the woods at Littlewick common and find out some of its history. Sue who runs the Nursery will open up the church and tell us about it. Another aspect of the walk is unusual for a totally different reason. Footpath 4 from Carthouse Lane to Deep Pool has been ploughed up, with only 4 kissing gates left to guide us over rather muddy ground( about 200m) It’s worth doing to maintain rights of keeping as a footpath. However, it will also be possible to retrace one’s steps to Goldsworth Park and walk around the lake to avoid the mud. There will be a choice. Everyone is welcome to come on the walk to Goldsworth Park, Littlewick Common, Deep Pool the Grasslands of Horsell Common and back via Viggory lane and Horsell Birch. Wet weather gear is advisable. There are some stiles.

  • Duration: Return by 12noon at the latest
  • Where: Meet by the village notice board, High Street (outside The Beijing Restaurant)
